About the Triennial Events

Our first experience of paper as a structural or sculptural material is in the innocence of childhood, when we make paper boats, airplanes and tippy-tippy-tap toys. Also, birthday party crepe paper buntings! How wondrous it was – that something so seemingly flimsy and delicate could fly across many meters, could float (and move) on water for hours and was flexible/flexural enough to create such astonishing geometric contortions? As we begin to grow up, and childhood gets left behind, we forget how marvelous and strong paper can be. We relegate its usage to its most inert state – as a passive and flat receiver of printed or hand-made markings in pencil and ink. We forget that paper can dance, it can float and it can fly. This exhibition is to reawaken that wonder of paper in our minds (and more importantly in our hearts).

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.
